The Linux Foundation announced the Agentic AI Foundation, anchored by the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the standard AI agents use to call tools and applications, together with goose and AGENTS.md.
A vendor-neutral home for MCP means the way agents reach applications is becoming shared infrastructure. Applications that cannot expose their functions cleanly stay outside it.
